Bee Grateful

“You are your mother’s bumble bee,” one of my best friends typed into an instant message conversation to me years ago. “I know it sounds weird” she said, “but I just felt compelled to tell you.” It hadn’t been that long since my mom passed away from breast cancer on a Thanksgiving morning. My friend’s words were so powerful because we were chatting online from 2 different states and there was no way she could have known I was wearing black pants and a fuzzy yellow fleece at the exact time she told me. I can’t explain what a wonderful feeling it was to know that my mother was still there for me in spirit and reached out to comfort me.  I’m so grateful that I had a sweet and generous mom who always supported my independence, the pursuit of my dreams and artistic vision.  I’m also grateful for my friend (sister really) for her courage, love and support. I hope that you spread bumble bee love to your children by involving them in activities that instill the importance of gratefulness. Print out Beaula’s Thanksgiving coloring page and let’s Bee grateful together.
