Save $$$ and Get What You Really Want For Christmas
Try my Christmas Bunny Box Exchange This Year!
Step One: Start early (This time of year, late September/early October, is perfect). Get everyone in your family who you exchange gifts with to print out or write down all the items they want.
The minimum amount of items per person should be the amount of people participating. For example, if you have 6 people participating make sure everyone has at least 6 items chosen.
If you have a big family, you can have everyone pick items around the same price. Put one item per sheet with detailed information such as color, size, amount, where to buy etc.
Step Two: Stuff the item sheet in an envelope, seal and put the name of the person and the price on the front. This helps family members budget their money.
Step Three: Pick any type of box or container that can hold a lot of envelopes and you can label with each participant’s name. Have everyone put their item envelopes in the box with their name on it.
Step Four: Set a deadline for everyone to choose at least the minimum items so the envelope picking and shopping can start (more envelopes should still be allowed to be put in after the deadline). After Thanksgiving dinner is a great time! For picking time, just take item envelopes out of everyone’s box except your own and buy that gift. If you feel like you’ll miss the element of surprise put a lot of envelopes in your box. Chances are you won’t remember every single thing you put in there by the time Christmas comes.
I must warn you, it can be like herding cats to get your family into it, but in the end everyone is happy. This gift exchange takes a lot of the stress and pressure of what to buy each other away and saves money wasted on unused items. Don’t forget to pick your favorite things from my Boutique to put in your bunny box!
